The laying of the fourth in a series special purpose ship for the Russian Navy at the military shipyard “Ship Repair Center “Zvezdochka” in Severodvinsk, planned for this year, has been postponed, according to ITAR-TASS referring to the general director of the plant Vladimir Nikitin.
“The contract was signed, but the laying will be in the coming year. The fact that the documentation is not ready yet, the technical design is approved,” Nikitin said.
According to the director, the experience shows that the start of construction of the ship with an incomplete technical project or set of design documentation in the future may lead to delays in work.
This year “Zvezdochka” will give to the Navy the weapons transport “Akademik Kovalev”. This ice-class vessel is designed for loading, unloading and transportation of arms samples.
